"New Beginnings" January Event

It's hard to believe that December is almost here!  CRAZY!  

We are having our Christmas Event this coming Tuesday, December 4, 2012 beginning at 6:30 pm.

We have gals that are hosting and decorating their tables just for you this month!

September 2012 WOW Event!

Hi Ladies!

Fall is almost here! We are having a special event for you after taking a summer break. We'll meet Tuesday, September 25th at 6:30 pm for a meal, fellowship and word.

We have a special evening planned for you! I'm so excited as we are doing something a bit different! There will be a powerful message ending in break-out groups!

Reminder: We are doing shoe boxes this year for the women's Teen Challenge center in Ft. Myers. Please sign up in the church lobby!

WOW (Women of Worth) is a place to make connections with other godly women and receive encouragement.

Please bring a covered dish that we can share. Bring your favorite entree that you enjoy making for friends and family! There will be a sign up sheet in the lobby for you to let us know what you'd like to bring.

We are looking forward to meeting with you and sharing in each other's lives!

June 26th Luau Event

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to remind you of our WOW event next Tuesday! Our theme, is

"Never Borrow Sorrow from Tomorrow" with guest speaker: Johna Vassallo.

The theme is based on this scripture.

“For God can use sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek salvation. We will never regret that kind of sorrow. But sorrow without repentance is the kind that results in death.” II Cor. 7:10

I hope that you will be able to attend this event. It will be an evening of fun and fellowship as well as worship and word.

The Life Center will be decorated for a Luau. Feel free to wear your Hawaiian dresses and leis.

Please bring a dish that we can share during the fellowship time.

Summer Luau!

It's hard to believe that we've not posted anything lately!

I am happy to share that we our having a "Summer Luau" this month Tuesday, January 26 beginning at 6:30 pm with a fellowship time.

We so hope you will come !

We have a wonderful speaker that will share her journey towards the Cross and meeting our Savior.

She was my nurse at the Neurologist where I go for treatments and she spoke into my life during a difficult time.

Johna will bless your heart.

We look forward to you meeting with us for this special time of fellowship and ministry.

January WOW 2012

Hi Ladies!

Happy New Year!

Yes, we are well into 2012!

It's hard to believe! God has brought us through 2011 and I'm so thankful for a new year and a new day! I love that scripture that says in Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Last year was a trying year for me personally. Many of you know I was diagnosed with MS. God has strenghtened, provided and under girded me. I refuse to quit and the enemy is not going to win the battle!

Praise God, He is faithfulful and will continue to be faithful to you and I whose hope is in Him.

We have a wonderful evening planned for you! Our spiritual theme is: "Letting Go, Letting God!" with Rebecca Wieder.

This will be an exciting time as Rebecca shares her testimony! I'm so proud of everything that God has done in her life and what He continues to do.

You are invited to come out and share in a meal. Please bring a dish to pass. There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby or you may RSVP through this email.

Also, I wanted to share with you that we are beginning two new bible studies for Women's Ministries beginning the week of February 7th.

One is by Joyce Meyer that will be held on Thursday's at 10:00 am in the conference room called "Never Quit". This is an excellent bible study and I encourage you that don't work or your schedule allows to come and be a part of it.

The other bible study is called "Faithful, Abundant, True" by three awesome bible teachers: Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur. This will be held on Tuesday evenings the week of February 7th at 7:00 pm in the Conference room.

There is no charge for these, only if you wish to purchase workbooks to work on your own at home.

Registration is this month in the lobby of the Sanctuary.

I hope and pray that you'll be able to come and be part of our special event this month!

WOW Leadership Christmas Breakfast

Hi ladies,

For the past couple of years the leadership team has a tradition that we go to the Dutch Heritage for the all you can eat breakfast bar and then tour the gift shop upstairs.

It's always decorated so beautifully and we are tempted to buy everything in the store! We've been known to go to other shops and stop on the way home for lunch or dinner! Shopping can make you very hungry! LOL

We had such a good time last Tuesday. If you missed it, well you missed it!

We had sweet fellowship, really good food and our speaker Jeanie Turner with One Way Out ministries shared amazing testimonies of how God has used her for His Glory!

Fall Baby Shower!

We had a wonderful time yesterday as we hosted a baby shower for Patricia & Joshua as they celebrate their new addition to their family very soon.

Patricia has requested we celebrate in a Fall theme as that it her favorite time of year and our leadership team did a beautiful job doing just that.

September 20, 2011 WOW Event

Hi Ladies,

It's been a long hot summer and I don't know about you but I'm so ready for Fall!

It's been since June that we met for our monthly WOW event. We will meet again on Tuesday, September 20th with our own Dollie Megge! Our theme is "Who is in your suitcase?" Sounds interesting huh?

Dollie will be sharing a powerful testimony about her recent trip to Germany earlier this year of God's provision and healing in a scary situation! You'll want to hear this! Trust me!

We will begin with our usual fellowship time and share in a pot-luck meal.

So bring a dish and come out at 6:30 pm for this special time of just us girls!

Let's get back in the swing of it and be part of this group!

Hope Tour this Saturday, Aug 6

August is here and this weekend is our turn for the Hope Tour at Church of Hope in Sarasota! Saturday, August 6th. Registration begins at 8:30 am. Hope Tour is from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. It's going to be wonderful! I encourage you to try and attend!

Wow was Wow!

Greetings Ladies,

We had an awesome evening Tuesday with our guest speaker Pastor Judi Cotignola. She was amazing and brought a powerful word on How Bright is your Star?

Several quotes from her were:

"We need less information and more revelation."

"More God and more power = More obedience!"

"The annointing comes with a price."

"Jesus was blamed, but was blameless."

"Relationship with people can be messy."

"Take off the garment of despair and put on the garment of praise."

I will!

Dear Ladies,

There is a scripture that I remember our good friend and deceased church member, Gail Gaffron would say, "I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise will continually be on my lips."

Gail was ill in the later years that we knew her and she suffered tremendous pain throughout her body, but you never knew it. She would speak encouraging words and proclaim this scripture regardless of how she felt.

She was always a source of encouragement to my husband, Pastor Keith as well as to others she knew. She always listened to those that would go to her and they knew she could keep a confidence.

I was cleaning out a drawer the other day and came across a card she had given me. I have other precious keepsakes that she gave me while attending our church and seeing those items remind me of how special she was.

Another saying she'd say, "This too shall pass".

Most of us are going through "stuff" in our lives. God still deserves the glory and praise for all that He has done regardless if we think he is moving in our lives or not. Be assured He is moving.

Just because a negative diagnosis has been spoken over me... I remember her words of praise!

I believe that He is working all things out together for our good and yes, I will bless the Lord in the good times and in the bad and His praise will continually be on my lips.

Gail was truly was one of the wisest women I've ever known. She is missed dearly, and those of us that she invested in carry a piece of her in our hearts and lives today.

Like Gail, I encourage you to proclaim His promises in your situations and lives.

On another note: Don't forget our last WOW get together for the summer with Pastor Judi Cotignola! She comes from Palmetto. You will be blessed by her ministry.

She has a word to encourage you I guarantee it!

Mentoring

Mentoring women is part of what I do as a leader. I've been mentoring the WOW (Women of Worth) leadership team for awhile now. It's exciting to see God raise up women in our church to be used for His glory.

It's part of the vision Pastor Keith and our church leadership is to raise up and send out. God's been doing that lately. We're so thankful to see this come to fruition in our ministry.

Jana & Peter Kozic are raising funds to go on the mission field. Ileana Reich has spoken recently at one of our sister churches in a nearby town. This past weekend Cindy Nelson had an opportunity to speak and minister to a group of ladies in Largo.

Some of our women went with Cindy to support her. She was a blessing and God used her to minister to those precious women.

God wants to use all of us in our sphere of influence. Not all of us are called to minister in front of an audience but He wants to use us where He places us "for such a time as this."

If we are faithful in the little things that He has placed before us then He'll bring the opportunities and promotion for greater things ahead.

He wants to know if we are trustworthy with what He's given us at hand to do.

I'm so proud of each lady on our leadership team and know that He desires to use each woman with the talents and skills He has blessed her with.
